APC 3 Months On...

My APC New Standards have seem some decent wear, though clearly not enough. I've had them since Dec 18 2009, so just a bit over 3 months. The waist has stretched a lot since I got them...so much so that what were once almost unbearable jeans on day 1 now need a belt.

The jeans have seen no washes or soaks.

Isn't it A.P.C. who says "only wash your jeans in the Ocean?" The best looking denim remains unwashed and fades naturally. Use the freezer to kill smells.

I think I'm going to wear Banana Republic Chino's til I get my hands on a pair of New Standards.

APC gives 4 options for their denim washing instructions:

1. Extremist: let jeans get as dirty as possible, then dry clean. The following washes only soak with Woolite black.

2. Semi Extremist: Soak in Woolite black for an hour.

3. Machine: Machine wash at 90 degrees F.

4.Seawater recipe: let jeans get as dirty as possible. Go swimming in the ocean. Rub jeans with dry sand. Repeat several times. Rinse in fresh water and let dry in the sun.

Thanks, JB! If I do end up washing the A.P.C.'s when I get them. I'm surely doing the water recipe since we go to the Ocean a lot being my wife is from Cambridge, MD.

Question: which pair of denim do you own which are you favorite?

Good question. Hard to pick just one, but if I had to it would be my 1947 LVCs. Loved em so much, I bought them twice! (Bought a 2nd pair after I ruined my first)
